Doomsday Do Something – 1/29/25

hope

My Doomsday Do Somethings of the day! (I’ve been posting these on my personal Facebook page and it’s been prompting great joy and action – I’m going to start copying them here too!)

🌱 Went to Whispering Roots to pick up pantry food for Youth Mart. Got to hear from their staff about their continued commitment to navigating and dismantling policy woes to feed people – no matter who they are.

☕️ Then I got coffee at Urban Abbey and chattered with my friends there doing the work to provide safety and hope and healing to anyone who might need it. Who needs starbies when we have nonprofit LGBTQ advocacy flipping tables Jesus coffee?

💻 Now I’m going to sit and do the boring laptop parts of my day and be grateful that even the boring laptopping parts of most of my days are centered entirely on helping young people remain fed and housed in whatever tiny ways I can.

In a moment where everyone is a little bit freaked out by the lack of “protests” I have found a renewed sense of hope in just how many people in our community are demonstrating that truly **sustainable** protest opportunities exist all around us.

Using the systems we have to build the ones we want is the work. Always. 💚
